Production Journey

1. Consultation & Concept Design
It all starts with your idea! We'll have an initial consultation to discuss your concept, character references, desired figure type (Vinyl, Action Figure, Sofubi), size, articulation needs, quantity, and budget. Our team can help refine your vision or work from provided specifications. We often create initial sketches or 2D concept art to establish the visual direction.
2. Digital 3D Sculpting
Once the design direction is approved, our skilled digital sculptors bring your character to life in three dimensions using industry-standard software like ZBrush. We focus on accurate anatomy, dynamic posing, fine details, and ensuring the sculpt is optimized for production. You'll receive renders for review and feedback rounds.
3. Prototyping & Refinement
With the 3D sculpt finalized, we create a physical prototype, typically using high-resolution 3D printing. This master prototype allows us to check the scale, proportions, joint fitting (for action figures), and overall feel. It serves as the basis for mold making and can be refined if necessary.
4. Mold Making
Based on the finalized prototype and chosen material (Vinyl, ABS plastic, etc.), we create production molds. This is a critical step involving engineering the mold for efficient casting or injection, ensuring details are captured accurately, and planning for part separation. Steel molds are common for high-volume injection, while other methods might be used for sofubi or smaller runs.
5. Production Run
This is where your figures are mass-produced! Depending on the type:
• Vinyl Toys: Often involve rotational casting.
• Action Figures: Typically use plastic injection molding for parts.
• Sofubi: Utilize a unique slush-molding technique with soft vinyl.
We carefully manage material selection and the manufacturing process for consistency.
6. Painting & Assembly
The produced parts are carefully assembled. Our artisans apply paint details using various techniques like spray masking, pad printing, and hand painting to match the approved color guide. We pay close attention to clean lines, accurate colors, and overall finish.
7. Quality Control
Before packaging, each figure undergoes a rigorous quality control check. We inspect for defects in molding, painting, assembly, and overall appearance to ensure every piece meets our high standards and your expectations.
8. Packaging & Delivery
First impressions matter! We can assist with designing and producing custom packaging – such as window boxes, header cards with bags, or blister packs – that protects your figure and enhances its presentation. Once packed, your order is prepared for shipment and delivered to your specified location.
